Modern TV journalists often use documentary video clips as historical evidence. As outreaching of video sources widely adopted, the risks of misuse of these materials increase. This article demonstrates a framework for critical investigation of historical video clips. Four cases are presented to illustrate the rule of thumb of authenticity check.
