向文化轉：傳播學研究本土化之新進路
Cultural turn: a new approach to indigenous communication studies

在本文的分析中，本土化應可分成地域性、文化性與典範性三種意涵。唯現有的台灣傳播學本土化之文獻，幾乎多集中在文化性的討論上，且仍隱含文化實體論，也多採由上而下的研究方式，無法展現出文化的變動性與交融性。尤其，無法貼近當前台灣社會的本土文化樣貌。 是以，本文建議應做文化轉向，將文化從實體論轉向詮釋論，這可讓研究者描繪出社會生活中的各種實踐樣貌。

In this paper, the author finds that there are at least three meanings of the indigenization: localization, culture and paradigm. In Taiwan, communication researchers who are concerned about the indigenization always focus on the culture, but the concept of culture is too substantial and researchers prefer the top-down approach. In order to describe the dynamics of culture and the real social life in Taiwan, the author suggests that we should turn the concept of culture to the interpretative tradition. That is what the author called the cultural turn in this paper.
