(New World Information and Communication Order,NWICO)的呼籲。
This research examines the new international division of cultural labor (NICL) in the digital game and 3D animation industry. Multimedia products with a Hollywood label might originate from the Asia-Pacific region. Technical innovation, I argue, empowers small-medium enterprises in Asia to shoulder the production needs of major studios in North America. This development reduces the possible threat of Hollywood ’s hegemony on national cultures, and as a result, the discourse of cultural imperialism would hardly survive under the new mode of the NICL. As Miller, Govil, McMurria, and Maxwell (2001) claims, "Hollywood ’s ’real ’ location lies in its division of labor." Third world countries are part of the "global Hollywood," not just the victims of its hegemony.
