Base on the risk society theory and the risk communication model, the article
discussed the influence of the news media on the war risk perception, risk
acceptance, policy support and behavior tendency. The research used questionnaire
survey (n=485) and showed that the more officers and soldiers paid attention to
network, television, and newspaper reporting PLA planes fly around Taiwan, the
higher war risk perception they would have. Political trust had a mediating effect on
the relationship between media usage and war risk perception. Also, the higher war
risk perception, the higher risk acceptance, policy support and behavior tendency.
