In the recent two years, newspapers in Taiwan have established the section of social aid, which mainly have reports of the poor ’s adversities. This research takes the "Warm Current" section of Apple Daily and the "People" section of the Unite Daily News as the research objects, and discusses how the newspapers present the poverty by content analysis and narrative analysis. This research reveals that the images of the poor in the newspapers are different from the official statistics, especially in the reason of being in poverty. Moreover, the most frequently appearing image of the news character is the middle-aged mother, who plays the role of taking care of other family members.
