敘事理論過去已針對諸如小說、電影、戲劇等不同媒介所呈現之文本樣態進行分析,並找出其各自敘事之特質與差異。然而,電腦遊戲此一新興媒介與敘事關係之研究卻仍屬匱乏,極待探索與釐清。

本文以電腦遊戲《哈利波特:神秘的魔法石》為案例,運用敘事理論進行分析,以探索電腦遊戲與敘事之關係。本文發現,電腦遊戲與敘事關係之討論,須納入電玩內容類型因素之考量。而從敘事元素、元素組織及整體敘事特質三層面進行剖析,發現此一遊戲的確具有敘事所需之基本元素與組織架構,同時,在其整體敘事特質上也具有某些規則性。
英文摘要
The relationship between computer games and narrative is indistinct since narrative theory has been used to analysis many different texts such as novels, movies and drama.

This paper aims to explore the relationship between computer games and narrative by the example "Harry Potter and the philosopher ’s stone". The results of this study indicate that the type of games should be concerned while discussing computer games and narrative. In addition, this game has familiar elements and structure to narrative, and has some patterns of its narrative features.
