The current study employs the methods of content analysis, focus group, appreciation index, and in-depth interview to investigate the production and qualitative ratings of the most renowned TV international news programs in Taiwan--World Viewpoint of ERANEWS and Global News of PTS. Both programs are evaluated in terms of program scheduling, cocntent, the anchor and reporter ’s performance as well as the technical designs. The results indicate that the PTS is applauded for its indepth international news reports and commentaries; on the other hand, ERANEWS is better off in terms of its technical designs and creativity.
